Forged in black ice
A war with the sun
Gather my legions
The light we shall shun
In deep-under black bits
where darkness shall reign
I wear the soot crown
Heareth my name
But in the kingdoms that no one remembers
No morning light can bring back the life
The ash of the kingdoms that no one remembers
Will spread to the wind be forgotten forever
Left is the name that you know to be mine
Underneath a pale blue moon
Wakes a people by a lake of ever bloom
Come with me, follow the sound
Hear my music, by its whisper forever be bound
We ride!
But in the kingdoms that no one remembers
The promise of falls gods is wiped from the world
The ash of the kingdoms that no one remembers
Will spread to the wind be forgotten forever
Left is the face that you know to be mine
The fire is black
The memory awoken
The spirit is black
The memory forgotten
Born in the kingdom that no one remembers
Your soul is black and shunned from the start
There be no penance for you and your kind
History remembers only the deeds
Left is the legacy you know to be mine

I love this particular niche of modern black metal. Crisp, biting production and clear, cutting riffs. Imperialist are among the best there is right now. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74

Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9

Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
