From the frostlands of putrid moon tower
To the plains of lands of the dark
In the master's deep shadow so black and so long
Stalking the city of death
I am of my master my master's ninth son
I take on the gift that is granted to me
By the spell of the one my time it will be
The valley of ancient death
To the altar of blood and stone
I go to the other side
Through a veil of storms long gone
When it's cold and dark
When the night is silent and sung
And a spell is cast, an answer, a whisper
I sing of frozen dreams
But the night
is so cold
It chills my bones
and my heart
forgotten
The words
unspoken
I dream of a land in the distance
Of a place of mountains so young
A mirror, an image of longing
A song to a home long gone
Light the fire
Bring the moonlight
Carry me through
to the other side!
When it's cold and dark
When the night is silent and sung
And a spell is cast, an answer, a whisper
I sing of frozen dreams

I love this particular niche of modern black metal. Crisp, biting production and clear, cutting riffs. Imperialist are among the best there is right now. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74

Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9

Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
