By my father, I am bound
Like a dog fore my brothers
A spider's maws will set me free
Suck the light from the world
Take to the mountains of mankind
Down to the lake of the moon
Where the children wake
Where the earth may quake
A new age can bloom
We'll never be the same
As we take to the heavens,
and spell a new order
To the rim of the world
Where demons yet lie
And worlds are created
By the gates of the morning,
and the doors of night!
By the doors of the night
The gates of the morning
In my own time - the world will change
As the sun sets the moon doth take shape
Howl the wolf in ancient Angband
For the coming of the time
Can anyone remember what the world was like before time and space?
When demons ruled the earth and there was darkness
When elves did sleep by moonlight shores and men were yet to be made
Can we go back oh take me there oh let it be the same
By the doors of the night
The gates of the morning
In my own time - the world will change
As the sun sets the moon doth take shape
Howl the wolf in ancient Angband
For the coming of the time
I love this particular niche of modern black metal. Crisp, biting production and clear, cutting riffs. Imperialist are among the best there is right now. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)
Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9
Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
