The cackle of insanity
gone with the flames
A vision in the moonlight
Of what might have been
But can this husk recall?
Can we even see?
When Cymorill loved me
How it used to be
As the screams of lust and torment fill my mind
And a voice calls to a void beyond our own
Blood and souls for my lord must be awoken
Say, is there still something left of me
In the city of dreams
It calls my namew
Oh mighty Stormbringer
A new time it dawns in blood and souls
Over the city of dreams
Went the final soul
Arioch oh Arioch!
The sun doth set on the burning city of dreams
The sin of generations
Putrefied in cinder
The kingdom of an empire
Gone with the wind
I am the last one
Of a long noble line
A weak pale ghost
Shivering inside
As the screams of lust and torment fill my mind
And a voice calls to a void beyond our own
Blood and souls for my lord must be awoken
Say, is there still something left of me
In the city of dreams
It calls my name
Oh mighty Stormbringer
A new time it dawns in the city of dreams
Went the final soul
Oh Arioch oh Arioch!
The sun doth burn in the city of dreams
In the city of dreams
Went the final soul
Oh mighty Stormbringer
A new time it dawns in blood and souls
Over the city of dreams
Went the final soul
oh Arioch!

I love this particular niche of modern black metal. Crisp, biting production and clear, cutting riffs. Imperialist are among the best there is right now. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74

Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9

Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
